بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ

Translation:
Ayah 1

نۤۚ وَٱلۡقَلَمِ وَمَا یَسۡطُرُونَ

نۤ قلم کی قسم ہے اور اس کی جو اس سے لکھتے ہیں

Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,

Noon; walqalami wa maa yasturoon

Ayah 2

مَاۤ أَنتَ بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجۡنُونࣲ

آپ الله کے فضل سے دیوانہ نہیں ہیں

You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

Maa anta bini'mati Rabbika bimajnoon

Ayah 3

وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجۡرًا غَیۡرَ مَمۡنُونࣲ

اور آپ کے لیے تو بے شمار اجر ہے

And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.

Wa inna laka la ajran ghaira mamnoon

Ayah 4

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِیمࣲ

اور بے شک آپ تو بڑے ہی خوش خلق ہیں

And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

Wa innaka la'alaa khuluqin 'azeem

Ayah 5

فَسَتُبۡصِرُ وَیُبۡصِرُونَ

پس عنقریب آپ بھی دیکھ لیں گے اور وہ بھی دیکھ لیں گے

So you will see and they will see

Fasatubsiru wa yubsiroon

Ayah 6

بِأَییِّكُمُ ٱلۡمَفۡتُونُ

کہ تم میں سے کون دیوانہ ہے

Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].

Bi ayyikumul maftoon

Ayah 7

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِینَ

بے شک آپ کا رب ہی خوب جانتا ہے کہ کون اس کی راہ سے بہکا ہے اور وہ ہدایت پانے والوں کو بھی خوب جانتا ہے

Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

Innaa Rabbaka Huwa a'lamu biman dalla 'an sabeelihee wa Huwa a'lamu bilmuhtadeen

Ayah 8

فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ

پس آپ جھٹلانےوالوں کا کہا نہ مانیں

Then do not obey the deniers.

Falaa tuti'il mukazzibeen

Ayah 9

وَدُّوا۟ لَوۡ تُدۡهِنُ فَیُدۡهِنُونَ

وہ تو چاہتے ہیں کہ کہیں آپ نرمی کریں تو وہ بھی نرمی کریں

They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].

Waddoo law tudhinu fa-yudhinoon

Ayah 10

وَلَا تُطِعۡ كُلَّ حَلَّافࣲ مَّهِینٍ

اور ہر قسمیں کھانے والے ذلیل کا کہا نہ مان

And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer

Wa laa tuti' kulla hallaa fim maheen

Ayah 11

هَمَّازࣲ مَّشَّاۤءِۭ بِنَمِیمࣲ

جو طعنے دینے والا چغلی کھانے والا ہے

[And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -

Hammaazim mash shaaa'im binameem

Ayah 12

مَّنَّاعࣲ لِّلۡخَیۡرِ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِیمٍ

نیکی سے روکنے والا حد سے بڑھاہوا گناہگار ہے

A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,

Mannaa'il lilkhairi mu'tadin aseem

Ayah 13

عُتُلِّۭ بَعۡدَ ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ زَنِیمٍ

بڑا اجڈ اس کے بعد بد اصل بھی ہے

Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.

'Utullim ba'da zaalika zaneem

Ayah 14

أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالࣲ وَبَنِینَ

اس لئے کہ وہ مال اور اولاد والا ہے

Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,

An kaana zaa maalinw-wa baneen

Ayah 15

إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِ ءَایَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ

جب اس پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتا ہے پہلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

Izaa tutlaa 'alaihi aayaatunaa qaala asaateerul awwaleen

Ayah 16

سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡخُرۡطُومِ

عنقریب ہم اس کی ناک پر داغ لگائیں گے

We will brand him upon the snout.

Sanasimuhoo 'alal khurtoom

Ayah 17

إِنَّا بَلَوۡنَـٰهُمۡ كَمَا بَلَوۡنَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ إِذۡ أَقۡسَمُوا۟ لَیَصۡرِمُنَّهَا مُصۡبِحِینَ

بے شک ہم نے ان کو آزمایا ہے جیسا کہ ہم نے باغ والوں کو آزمایا تھا جب انہوں نے قسم کھائی تھی کہ وہ ضرور صبح ہوتے ہی اس کا پھل توڑ لیں گے

Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning

Innaa balawnaahum kamaa balawnaaa As-haabal jannati iz 'aqsamoo la-yasri munnahaa musbiheen

Ayah 18

وَلَا یَسۡتَثۡنُونَ

اور انشاالله بھی نہ کہا تھا

Without making exception.

Wa laa yastasnoon

Ayah 19

فَطَافَ عَلَیۡهَا طَاۤىِٕفࣱ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمۡ نَاۤىِٕمُونَ

پھر تو اس پر رات ہی میں آپ کے رب کی طرف سے ایک جھونکا چل گیا درآنحالیکہ وہ سونے والے تھے

So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.

Fataafa 'alaihaa taaa'i fum mir rabbika wa hum naaa'imoon

Ayah 20

فَأَصۡبَحَتۡ كَٱلصَّرِیمِ

پھر وہ کٹی ہوئی کھیتی کی طرح ہو گیا

And it became as though reaped.

Fa asbahat kassareem

Ayah 21

فَتَنَادَوۡا۟ مُصۡبِحِینَ

پھر وہ صبح کو پکارنے لگے

And they called one another at morning,

Fatanaadaw musbiheen

Ayah 22

أَنِ ٱغۡدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرۡثِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰرِمِینَ

کہ اپنے کھیت پر سویرے چلو اگر تم نے پھل توڑنا ہے

[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."

Anighdoo 'alaa harsikum in kuntum saarimeen

Ayah 23

فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمۡ یَتَخَـٰفَتُونَ

پھر وہ آپس میں چپکے چپکے یہ کہتے ہوئے چلے

So they set out, while lowering their voices,

Fantalaqoo wa hum yatakhaafatoon

Ayah 24

أَن لَّا یَدۡخُلَنَّهَا ٱلۡیَوۡمَ عَلَیۡكُم مِّسۡكِینࣱ

کہ تمہارے باغ میں آج کوئی محتاج نہ آنے پائے

[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."

Al laa yadkhulannahal yawma 'alaikum miskeen

Ayah 25

وَغَدَوۡا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرۡدࣲ قَـٰدِرِینَ

اور وہ سویرے ہی بڑے اہتمام سے پھل توڑنے کی قدرت کا خیال کر کے چل پڑے

And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.

Wa ghadaw 'alaa hardin qaadireen

Ayah 26

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهَا قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّا لَضَاۤلُّونَ

پس جب انہوں نے اسے دیکھا تو کہنے لگےکہ ہم تو راہ بھول گئے ہیں

But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;

Falammaa ra awhaa qaalooo innaa ladaaalloon

Ayah 27

بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ

بلکہ ہم تو بدنصیب ہیں

Rather, we have been deprived."

Bal nahnu mahroomoon

Ayah 28

قَالَ أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ لَوۡلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

پھر ان میں سے اچھے آدمی نے کہا کیامیں نے تمہیں نہیں کہا تھا کہ تم کس لیے تسبیح نہیں کرتے

The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' "

Qaala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum law laa tusabbihoon

Ayah 29

قَالُوا۟ سُبۡحَـٰنَ رَبِّنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ

انہوں نے کہا ہمارا رب پاک ہے بے شک ہم ظالم تھے

They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."

Qaaloo subhaana rabbinaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen

Ayah 30

فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ

پھر ایک دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر آپس میں ملامت کرنے لگے

Then they approached one another, blaming each other.

Fa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'diny yatalaawamoon

Ayah 31

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـٰغِینَ

انہوں نے کہا ہائے افسوس بے شک ہم سرکش تھے

They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.

Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa taagheen

Ayah 32

عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَاۤ أَن یُبۡدِلَنَا خَیۡرࣰا مِّنۡهَاۤ إِنَّاۤ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَ ٰ⁠غِبُونَ

شاید ہمارا رب ہمارے لیے اس سے بہتر باغ بدل دے بے شک ہم اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے ہیں

Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."

'Asaa rabbunaaa any yubdilanaa khairam minhaaa innaaa ilaa rabbinaa raaghiboon

Ayah 33

كَذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ ٱلۡعَذَابُۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ یَعۡلَمُونَ

عذاب یونہی ہوا کرتا ہے اور البتہ آخرت کا عذاب تو کہیں بڑھ کر ہے کاش وہ جانتے

Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.

Kazaalikal azaab, wa la'azaabul aakhirati akbar; law kaanoo ya'lamoon

Ayah 34

إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِینَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ

بے شک پرہیزگاروں کے لیے ان کے رب کے ہاں نعمت کے باغ ہیں

Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.

Inna lilmuttaqeena 'inda rabbihim jannaatin na'eem

Ayah 35

أَفَنَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ كَٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ

پس کیا ہم فرمانبرداروں کو مجرموں کی طرح کر دیں گے

Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?

Afanaj'alul muslimeena kalmujrimeen

Ayah 36

مَا لَكُمۡ كَیۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ

تمہیں کیا ہوگیا کیسا فیصلہ کر رہے ہو

What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?

Maa lakum kaifa tahhkumoon

Ayah 37

أَمۡ لَكُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣱ فِیهِ تَدۡرُسُونَ

کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی کتاب ہے جس میں تم پڑھتے ہو

Or do you have a scripture in which you learn

Am lakum kitaabun feehi tadrusoon

Ayah 38

إِنَّ لَكُمۡ فِیهِ لَمَا تَخَیَّرُونَ

کہ بے شک تمہیں آخرت میں ملے گا جو تم پسند کرتے ہو

That indeed for you is whatever you choose?

Inna lakum feehi lamaa takhaiyaroon

Ayah 39

أَمۡ لَكُمۡ أَیۡمَـٰنٌ عَلَیۡنَا بَـٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ إِنَّ لَكُمۡ لَمَا تَحۡكُمُونَ

کیا تمہارے لیے ہم نے قسمیں کھا لی ہیں جو قیامت تک چلی جائيں گی کہ بے شک تمہیں وہی ملے گا جو تم حکم کرو گے

Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?

Am lakum aymaanun 'alainaa baalighatun ilaa yawmil qiyaamati inna lakum lamaa tahkumoon

Ayah 40

سَلۡهُمۡ أَیُّهُم بِذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ زَعِیمٌ

ان سے پوچھیئے کون سا ان میں اس بات کا ذمہ دار ہے

Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.

Salhum ayyuhum bizaa lika za'eem

Ayah 41

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شُرَكَاۤءُ فَلۡیَأۡتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمۡ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِینَ

کیا ان کے معبود ہیں پھر اپنے معبودوں کو لے آئيں اگر وہ سچے ہیں

Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.

Am lahum shurakaaa'u falyaatoo bishurakaaa 'ihim in kaanoo saadiqeen

Ayah 42

یَوۡمَ یُكۡشَفُ عَن سَاقࣲ وَیُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ

جس دن پنڈلی کھولی جائے گی اور وہ سجدہ کرنے کو بلائے جائیں گے تو وہ نہ کر سکیں گے

The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,

Yawma yukshafu 'am saaqinw wa yud'awna ilas sujoodi falaa yastatee'oon

Ayah 43

خَـٰشِعَةً أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ ذِلَّةࣱۖ وَقَدۡ كَانُوا۟ یُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمۡ سَـٰلِمُونَ

ان کی آنکھیں جھکی ہوں گی ان پر ذلت چھا رہی ہو گی اوروہ پہلے (دنیا میں) سجدہ کے لیے بلائے جاتے تھے حالانکہ وہ صحیح سالم ہوتے تھے

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.

Khaashi'atan absaaruhum tarhaquhum zillatunw wa qad kaanoo yud'awna ilassujoodi wa hum saalimoon

Ayah 44

فَذَرۡنِی وَمَن یُكَذِّبُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِۖ سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُم مِّنۡ حَیۡثُ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ

پس مجھے اور اس کلام کے جھٹلانے والوں کو چھوڑ دو ہم انہیں بتدریج (جہنم کی طرف) لے جائے گے اس طور پر کہ انہیں خبر بھی نہیں ہو گی

So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.

Fazarnee wa many yukazzibu bihaazal hadeesi sanastad rijuhum min haisu laa ya'lamoon

Ayah 45

وَأُمۡلِی لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ كَیۡدِی مَتِینٌ

اور ہم انکو ڈھیل دیتے ہیں بے شک ہماری تدبیر زبردست ہے

And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.

Wa umlee lahum; inna kaidee mateen

Ayah 46

أَمۡ تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ أَجۡرࣰا فَهُم مِّن مَّغۡرَمࣲ مُّثۡقَلُونَ

کیا آپ ان سے کچھ اجرت مانگتے ہیں کہ جس کا تاوان کا ان پر بوجھ پڑ رہا ہے

Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

Am tas'aluhum ajran fahum mim maghramim musqaloon

Ayah 47

أَمۡ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبُ فَهُمۡ یَكۡتُبُونَ

یا ان کے پاس غیب کی خبر ہے کہ وہ اسے لکھ لیتے ہیں

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

Am 'indahumul ghaibu fahum yaktuboon

Ayah 48

فَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلۡحُوتِ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكۡظُومࣱ

پھر آپ اپنے رب کے حکم کا انتظار کریں اور مچھلی والے جیسے نہ ہوجائیں جب کہ اس نے اپنے رب کو پکارا اور وہ بہت ہی غمگین تھا

Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

Fasbir lihkmi rabbika wa laa takun kasaahibil boot; iz naadaa wa huwa makzoom

Ayah 49

لَّوۡلَاۤ أَن تَدَ ٰ⁠رَكَهُۥ نِعۡمَةࣱ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلۡعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ مَذۡمُومࣱ

اگر اس کے رب کی رحمت اسے نہ سنبھال لیتی تو وہ برے حال سے چٹیل میدان میں پھینکا جاتا

If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.

Law laaa an tadaara kahoo ni'matum mir rabbihee lanubiza bil'araaa'i wa huwa mazmoom

Ayah 50

فَٱجۡتَبَـٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ

پس اسے اس کے رب نے نوازا پھر اسے نیک بختو ں میں کر دیا

And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.

Fajtabaahu rabbuhoo faja'alahoo minas saaliheen

Ayah 51

وَإِن یَكَادُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَیُزۡلِقُونَكَ بِأَبۡصَـٰرِهِمۡ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَیَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ

اور بالکل قریب تھا کہ کافر آپ کو اپنی تیز نگاہوں سے پھسلا دیں جب کہ انہوں نے قرآن سنا اور کہتے ہیں کہ یہ تو دیوانہ ہے

And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."

Wa iny-yakaadul lazeena kafaroo la-yuzliqoonaka biabsaarihim lammaa saml'uz-Zikra wa yaqooloona innahoo lamajnoon

Ayah 52

وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرࣱ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ

اور حالانکہ یہ قرآن تمام دنیا کے لیے صرف نصیحت ہے

But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.

Wa maa huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen
