Ha, Meem.

Haa-Meeeem

تَنزِیلُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡحَكِیمِ

یہ کتاب الله کی طرف سے اتاری گئی ہے جو غالب حکمت والا ہے

The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Tanzeelul Kitaabi minal laahil-'Azeezil Hakeem

مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَمَّاۤ أُنذِرُوا۟ مُعۡرِضُونَ

ہم نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو اور جو ان کے درمیان ہے کسی مصلحت ہی سے اور ایک خاص وقت تک کے لیے پیدا کیا ہے اورکافروں کو جس چیز سے ڈرایا جاتا ہے اس سے منہ پھیر لیتے ہیں

We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.

Maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaaa illaa bilhaqqi wa ajalim musammaa; wallazeena kafaroo 'ammaaa unziroo mu'ridoon

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِۖ ٱئۡتُونِی بِكِتَـٰبࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَـٰذَاۤ أَوۡ أَثَـٰرَةࣲ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ

کہہ دو بھلا بتاؤ تو سہی جنہیں تم الله کے سوا پکارتے ہو مجھے دکھاؤ کہ انہوں نے زمین میں کون سی چیز پیدا کی ہے یا آسمانوں میں ان کا کوئی حصہ ہے میرے پاس اس سے پہلے کی کوئی کتاب لاؤ یا کوئی علم چلا آتا ہو وہ لاؤ اگر تم سچے ہو

Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."

Qul ara'aytum maa tad'oona min doonil laahi aroonee maazaa khalaqoo minal ardi am lahum shirkun fis samaawaati eetoonee bi kitaabim min qabli haazaaa aw asaaratim min 'ilmin in kuntum saadiqeen

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن یَدۡعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا یَسۡتَجِیبُ لَهُۥۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَاۤىِٕهِمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ

اور اس سے بڑھ کر کون گمراہ ہے جو الله کےسوا اسےپکارتا ہے جو قیامت تک اس کے پکارنے کا جواب نہ دے سکے اور انہیں ان کے پکارنے کی خبر بھی نہ ہو

And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.

Wa man adallu mimmany yad'oo min doonil laahi mallaa yastajeebu lahooo ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati wa hum'an du'aaa'ihim ghaafiloon

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُوا۟ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَاۤءࣰ وَكَانُوا۟ بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ كَـٰفِرِینَ

او ر جب لوگ جمع کئےجائیں گے تو وہ ان کے دشمن ہو جائیں گے اور ان کی عبادت کے منکر ہوں گے

And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.

Wa izaa hushiran naasu kaanoo lahum a'daaa'anw wa kaanoo bi'ibaadatihim kaafireen

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتُنَا بَیِّنَـٰتࣲ قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ هَـٰذَا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِینٌ

اور جب ان پر ہماری واضح آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کافر حق کو کہتے ہیں جب وہ ان کے پاس آچکا کہ یہ تو کھلم کھلاجادوہے

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."

Wa izaa tutlaa 'alaihim Aayaatunaa baiyinaatin qaalal lazeena kafaroo lilhaqqi lammaa jaaa'ahum haazaa sihrum mubeen

أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَیۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِی مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡـًٔاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِیضُونَ فِیهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِیدَۢا بَیۡنِی وَبَیۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ

کیا وہ کہتے ہیں آپ نے اسے خود بنا لیا ہے کہہ دو اگر میں نے اسے خود بنا لیا ہے تو تم مجھے الله سے بچانے کی کچھ بھی طاقت نہیں رکھتے وہی بہتر جانتا ہے جو باتیں تم اس میں بناتے ہو میرے اور تمہارے درمیان وہی گواہ کافی ہے اور وہ بخشنے والا نہایت رحم والا ہے

Or do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allah at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving the Merciful."

Am yaqooloonaf taraahu qul inif taraituhoo falaa tamlikoona lee minal laahi shai'an Huwa a'lamu bimaa tufeedoona feehi kafaa bihee shaheedam bainee wa bainakum wa Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem

قُلۡ مَا كُنتُ بِدۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرِی مَا یُفۡعَلُ بِی وَلَا بِكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِیرࣱ مُّبِینࣱ

کہہ دو میں کوئی انوکھا رسول نہیں ہوں اور میں نہیں جانتا کہ میرے ساتھ کیا کیا جائے گا اور نہ تمہارے ساتھ میں نہیں پیروی کرتا مگر اس کی جو میری طرف وحی کیا جاتا ہے سوائے اس کے نہیں کہ میں کھلم کھلا ڈرانے والا ہوں

Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."

Qul maa kuntu bid'am minal Rusuli wa maaa adreee ma yuf'alu bee wa laa bikum in attabi'u illaa maa yoohaaa ilaiya ya maaa ana illaa nazeerum mubeen

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدࣱ مِّنۢ بَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰ⁠ۤءِیلَ عَلَىٰ مِثۡلِهِۦ فَـَٔامَنَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَهۡدِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ

کہہ دو بتاؤ تو سہی اگر یہ کتاب الله کی طرف سے ہو اور تم اس کے منکر ہو اور بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گواہ ایک ایسی کتاب پر گواہی دے کر ایمان بھی لے آیا اور تم اکڑے ہی رہے بے شک الله ظالموں کو ہدایت نہیں کرتا

Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

Qul ara'aytum in kaana min 'indil laahi wa kafartum bihee wa shahida shaahidum mim Banee Israaa'eela 'alaa mislihee fa aamana wastak bartum innal laaha laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانَ خَیۡرࣰا مَّا سَبَقُونَاۤ إِلَیۡهِۚ وَإِذۡ لَمۡ یَهۡتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَیَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَاۤ إِفۡكࣱ قَدِیمࣱ

اور کافروں نے ایمانداروں سے کہا اگر یہ دین بہتر ہوتا تو یہ اس پر ہم سے پہلے نہ دوڑ کر جاتے اورجب انہوں نے اس کے ذریعے سے ہدایت نہیں پائی تو کہیں گے یہ تو پرانا جھوٹ ہے

And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."

Wa qaalal lazeena kafaroo lillazeena aamanoo law kaana khairam maa sabaqoonaaa ilyh; wa iz lam yahtadoo bihee fasa yaqooloona haazaaa ifkun qadeem

وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰۤ إِمَامࣰا وَرَحۡمَةࣰۚ وَهَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبࣱ مُّصَدِّقࣱ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِیࣰّا لِّیُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ

اور اس سے پہلے موسیٰ کی کتاب ہے جو رہنما اور رحمت تھی او ریہ کتاب ہے جو اسے سچا کرتی ہے عربی زبان میں ظالموں کو ڈرانے کے لیے اور نیکوں کو خوشخبری دینے کے لیے

And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.

Wa min qablihee kitaabu Moosaaa imaamanw-wa rahmah; wa haazaa Kitaabum musad diqul lisaanan 'Arabiyyal liyunziral lazeena zalamoo wa bushraa lilmuhsineen

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ

بے شک جنہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارا رب الله ہے پھر اسی پر جمے رہے پس ان پر کوئی خوف نہیں اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوں گے

Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Innal lazeena qaaloo Rabbunal laahu summas taqaamoo falaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laahum yahzanoon

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَا جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ

یہی بہشتی ہیں اس میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے بدلےان کاموں کے جو وہ کیا کرتے تھے

Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.

Ulaaa'ika Ashabul Jannati khaalideena feehaa jazaaa'am bimaa kaano ya'maloon

وَوَصَّیۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَ ٰ⁠لِدَیۡهِ إِحۡسَـٰنًاۖ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرۡهࣰا وَوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهࣰاۖ وَحَمۡلُهُۥ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ ثَلَـٰثُونَ شَهۡرًاۚ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرۡبَعِینَ سَنَةࣰ قَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِیۤ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَ ٰ⁠لِدَیَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِی فِی ذُرِّیَّتِیۤۖ إِنِّی تُبۡتُ إِلَیۡكَ وَإِنِّی مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیکی کرنے کی تاکید کی کہ اسے اس کی ماں نے تکلیف سے اٹھائے رکھا اور اسے تکلیف سے جنا اوراس کا حمل اور دودھ کا چھڑانا تیس مہینے ہیں یہاں تک کہ جب وہ اپنی جوانی کو پہنچا اور چالیں سال کی عمر کو پہنچا تو اس نے کہا اے میرے رب مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری نعمت کا شکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر انعام کی اور میرے والدین پر اور میں نیک عمل کروں جسے تو پسند کرے اور میرے لیے میری اولاد میں اصلاح کر بے شک میں تیری طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں اور بے شک میں فرمانبردار میں ہوں

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

Wa wassainal insaana biwaalidaihi ihsaanan hamalathu ummuhoo kurhanw-wa wada'athu kurhanw wa hamluhoo wa fisaaluhoo salaasoona shahraa; hattaaa izaa balagha ashuddahoo wa balagho arba'eena sanatan qaala Rabbi aqzi'neee an ashkura ni'matakal lateee an'amta 'alaiya wa 'alaa waalidaiya wa an a'mala saalihan tardaahu wa aslih lee fee zurriyyatee innee tubtu ilaika wa innee minal muslimeen

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنۡهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَیِّـَٔاتِهِمۡ فِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ وَعۡدَ ٱلصِّدۡقِ ٱلَّذِی كَانُوا۟ یُوعَدُونَ

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن سے ہم وہ نیک عمل قبول کرتے ہیں جو انہوں نے کیے اور بہشتیوں میں شامل کر کے ان کے گناہوں سے درگزر کرتے ہیں یہ اس سچے وعدے کے مطابق ہے جو ان سے کیا گیا تھا

Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena nata qabbalu 'anhum ahsana maa 'amiloo wa natajaawazu 'an saiyiaatihim feee Ashaabil jannati Wa'das sidqil lazee kaanoo yoo'adoon

وَٱلَّذِی قَالَ لِوَ ٰ⁠لِدَیۡهِ أُفࣲّ لَّكُمَاۤ أَتَعِدَانِنِیۤ أَنۡ أُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلۡقُرُونُ مِن قَبۡلِی وَهُمَا یَسۡتَغِیثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَیۡلَكَ ءَامِنۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ فَیَقُولُ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّاۤ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ

اور جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے کہا کہ تم پر تف ہے کیاتم مجھے یہ وعدہ دیتے ہو کہ میں قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی امتیں گزر گئیں اور وہ دونوں الله سے فریاد کر رہے ہیں کہ ارے تیرا ناس ہو ایمان لا بے شک الله کاوعدہ سچا ہے پھر وہ کہتا ہے یہ ہے کیا مگر پہلوں کے افسانے

But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -

Wallazee qaala liwaali daihi uffil lakumaaa ata'idanineee an ukhraja wa qad khalatil quroonu min qablee wa humaa yastagheesaanil laaha wailaka aamin inna wa'dal laahi haqq, fa yaqoolu maa haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِیۤ أُمَمࣲ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِینَ

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں کہ ان کے حق میں بھی ان لوگوں کے ساتھ الله کا قول پورا ہو کر رہا جو ان سے پہلے جن اور انسان ہوگزرے ہیں بے شک وہی خسارہ اٹھانے والے ہیں

Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena haqqa 'alaihimul qawlu feee umamin qad khalat min qablihim minal jinni wal insi innahum kaanoo khaasireen

وَلِكُلࣲّ دَرَجَـٰتࣱ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ۖ وَلِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ

اور ہر ایک کے لیے اپنے اپنے اعمال کے مطابق درجے ہیں تاکہ الله ان کے اعمال کا انہیں پورا عوض دے اور ان پر کچھ بھی ظلم نہ ہوگا

And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

Wa likullin darajaatum mimmaa 'amiloo wa liyuwaf fiyahum a'maalahum wa hum laa yuzlamoon

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذۡهَبۡتُمۡ طَیِّبَـٰتِكُمۡ فِی حَیَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهَا فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡسُقُونَ

اور جس دن کافر آگ کے روبرو لائے جائیں گے ان سے (کہا جائے گا) تم (اپنا حصہ) پاک چیزو ں میں سے اپنی دنیا کی زندگی میں لے چکے اور تم ان سے فائدہ اٹھا چکے پس آج تمہیں ذلت کا عذاب دیا جائے گا بدلے اس کے جو تم زمین میں ناحق اکڑا کرتے تھے اوربدلے اس کے جو تم نافرمانی کیاکرتے تھے

And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."

Wa Yawma yu'radul lazeena kafaroo 'alan Naai azhabtum taiyibaatikum fee hayaatikumud dunyaa wastam ta'tum bihaa fal Yawma tujzawna 'azaabal hooni bimaa kuntum tastakbiroona fil ardi bighairil haqqi wa bimaa kuntum tafsuqoon

۞ وَٱذۡكُرۡ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذۡ أَنذَرَ قَوۡمَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦۤ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ عَلَیۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ

اور قوم عاد کے بھائی کا ذکر کر جب اس نے اپنی قوم کو (وادی) احقاف میں ڈرایا اور اس سے پہلے اورپیچھے کئی ڈرانے والے گزرے کہ سوائے الله کے کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو بے شک میں تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں

And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al-Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."

Wazkur akhaa 'Aad, iz anzara qawmahoo bil Ahqaafi wa qad khalatin nuzuru mim baini yadaihi wa min khalfiheee allaa ta'budooo illal laaha inneee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin 'azeem

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَأۡفِكَنَا عَنۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ

انہوں نے کہا کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لیے آیا ہے کہ تو ہمیں ہمارے معبودوں سے بہکا دے پس ہم پردہ (عذاب) لے آ جس کا تو ہم سے وعدہ کرتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے

They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

Qaaloo aji'tanaa litaa fikanaa 'an aalihatinaa faatinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minas saadiqeen

قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا تَجۡهَلُونَ

اس نے کہا اس کا علم تو الله کے پاس ہے اورمیں تمہیں وہ (پیغام) پہنچاتا ہوں جو میں دے کر بھیجا گیا ہوں لیکن میں تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہوں تم ایک جاہل قوم ہو

He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."

Qaala innamal 'ilmu indal laahi wa uballighukum maaa uriltu bihee wa laakinneee araakum qawman tajhaloon

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ عَارِضࣰا مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ أَوۡدِیَتِهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا عَارِضࣱ مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ بَلۡ هُوَ مَا ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم بِهِۦۖ رِیحࣱ فِیهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ

پھر جب انہوں نے اسے دیکھا کہ وہ ایک ابر ہے جو ان کے میدانوں کی طرف بڑھا چلا آ رہا ہے کہنے لگے کہ یہ تو ابر ہے جو ہم پر برسے گا (نہیں) بلکہ یہ وہی ہے جسے تم جلدی چاہتے تھے یعنی آندھی جس میں دردناک عذاب ہے

And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,

Falammaa ra awhu 'aaridam mustaqbila awdiyatihim qaaloo haazaa 'aaridum mumtirunaa; bal huwa masta'jaltum bihee reehun feehaa 'azaabun aleem

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَیۡءِۭ بِأَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ لَا یُرَىٰۤ إِلَّا مَسَـٰكِنُهُمۡۚ كَذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ

وہ اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر ایک چیز کو برباد کر دے گی پس وہ صبح کو ایسے ہو گئے کہ سوائے ان کے گھروں کے کچھ نظر نہ آتا تھا ہم اسی طرح مجرم لوگوں کو سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

Tudammiru kulla shai'im bi-amri Rabbihaa fa asbahoo laa yuraaa illaa masaakinuhum; kazaalika najzil qawmal mujrimeen

وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّـٰهُمۡ فِیمَاۤ إِن مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمۡ فِیهِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ سَمۡعࣰا وَأَبۡصَـٰرࣰا وَأَفۡـِٔدَةࣰ فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَفۡـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِذۡ كَانُوا۟ یَجۡحَدُونَ بِـَٔایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

اور ہم نے ان لوگوں کو ان باتوں میں قدرت دی تھی کہ تمہیں ان باتوں میں قدرت نہیں دی اور ہم نے انہیں کان اور آنکھیں اور دل دیئے تھے پھر نہ تو ان کے کان ہی کام آئے اور نہ ان کی آنکھیں ہی کام آئیں او رنہ ان کے دل ہی کچھ کام آئے کیوں کہ وہ الله کی آیتوں کو انکار ہی کرتے رہے اور جس عذاب کا وہ ٹھٹھا اڑیا کرتے تھے ان پر آن پڑا

And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Wa laqad makkannaahum feemaaa im makkannaakum feehi waj'alnaa lahum sam'anw wa absaaranw wa af'idatan famaaa aghnaa 'anhum samu'uhum wa laaa absaaruhum wa laaa af'idatuhum min shai'in iz kaanoo yajhadoona bi Aayaatil laahi wa haaqa bihim maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡـَٔایَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ

اور ہم ہلاک کر چکے ہیں جو تمہارے آس پاس بستیاں ہیں اور طرح طرح کے اپنے نشان قدرت بھی دکھائے تاکہ وہ باز آجائيں

And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].

Wa laqad ahlaknaa ma hawlakum minal quraa wa sarrafnal Aayaati la'allahum yarji'oon

فَلَوۡلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرۡبَانًا ءَالِهَةَۢۖ بَلۡ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ إِفۡكُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡتَرُونَ

پھر ان معبودوں نے کیوں نہ مدد کی جن کو انہوں نے الله کے سوا مرتبہ حاصل کرنے کے لیے معبود بنا رکھا تھا بلکہ وہ تو ان سے کھو ئےگئے تھے اور یہ ان کا جھوٹ تھا اور جو کچھ وہ ڈھکوسلے بنایا کرتےتھے

Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.

Falaw laa nasarahumul lazeenat takhazoo min doonil laahi qurbaanan aalihatam bal dalloo 'anhum' wa zaalika ifkuhum wa maa kaanoo yaftaroon

وَإِذۡ صَرَفۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ نَفَرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ یَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوۤا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِیَ وَلَّوۡا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِم مُّنذِرِینَ

اورجب ہم نے آپ کی طرف چند ایک جنوں کو پھیر دیا جو قرآن سن رہے تھے پس جب وہ آپ کے پاس حاصر ہوئے تو کہنے لگے چپ رہو پھر جب ختم ہوا تو اپنی قوم کی طرف واپس لوٹے ایسے حال میں کہ وہ ڈرانے والے تھے

And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.

Wa iz sarafinaaa ilaika nafaram minal jinni yastami'oonal Quraana falammaa hadaroohu qaalooo ansitoo falammaa qudiya wallaw ilaa qawmihim munzireen

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا كِتَـٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ یَهۡدِیۤ إِلَى ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِیقࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ

کہنے لگے اےہماری قوم بیشک ہم نے ایک کتاب سنی ہے جو موسیٰ کے بعد نازل ہوئی ہے ان کی تصدیق کرنے والی ہے جو اس سے پہلے ہو چکیں حق کی طرف ا ور سیدھے راستہ کی طرف رہنمائی کرتی ہے

They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.

Qaaloo yaa qawmanaaa innaa sami'naa Kitaaban unzila mim ba'di Moosa musaddiqal limaa baina yadihi yahdeee ilal haqqi wa ilaa Tareeqim Mustaqeem

یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ أَجِیبُوا۟ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَغۡفِرۡ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمۡ وَیُجِرۡكُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ

اے ہماری قوم الله کی طرف بلانے والے کو مان لو اور اس پر ایمان لے آؤ وہ تمہارے لیے تمہارے گناہ بخش دے گا اور تمہیں دردناک عذاب سے بچا لے گا

O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

Yaa qawmanaaa ajeeboo daa'iyal laahi wa aaminoo bihee yaghfir lakum min zunoobikum wa yujirkum min 'azaabin aleem

وَمَن لَّا یُجِبۡ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَیۡسَ بِمُعۡجِزࣲ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَیۡسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ أَوۡلِیَاۤءُۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینٍ

اور جو الله کی طرف بلانے والے کو نہ مانے گا تو وہ زمین میں اسے عاجر نہیں کر سکے گا اور الله کے سوا اس کا کوئی مددگار نہ ہوگا یہی لوگ صریح گمراہی میں ہیں

But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."

Wa mal laa yujib daa'iyal laahi falaisa bimu'jizin fil ardi wa laisa lahoo min dooniheee awliyaaa'; ulaaa ika fee dalaalim mubeen

أَوَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَمۡ یَعۡیَ بِخَلۡقِهِنَّ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰۤ أَن یُحۡـِۧیَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۚ بَلَىٰۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ

کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا جس الله نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کرنے میں نہیں تھکا اس پر قاد رہے کہ مردوں کو زندہ کردے کیوں نہیں وہ تو ہر ایک چیز پر قادر ہے

Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

Awalam yaraw annal laahal lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal larda wa lam ya'ya bikhal qihinna biqaadirin 'alaaa anyyuhiyal mawtaa; balaaa innahoo 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَیۡسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَاۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ

اور جس دن کافر آگ کے سامنے لائے جائیں گے (ان سے کہا جائے گا) کیا یہ امر واقعی نہیں ہے کہیں گے ہمیں اپنے رب کی قسم ضرور امر واقعی ہے ارشاد ہو گا تواپنے کفر کے بدلہ میں اس کا عذاب چکھو

And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."

Wa Yawma yu'radul lazeena kafaroo 'alan naari alaisa haaza bil haqq; qaaloo balaa wa Rabbinaa; qaala fazooqul 'azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuroon

فَٱصۡبِرۡ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡعَزۡمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِل لَّهُمۡۚ كَأَنَّهُمۡ یَوۡمَ یَرَوۡنَ مَا یُوعَدُونَ لَمۡ یَلۡبَثُوۤا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةࣰ مِّن نَّهَارِۭۚ بَلَـٰغࣱۚ فَهَلۡ یُهۡلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ

پھر صبرکر جیسا کہ عالی ہمت رسولوں نے کیا ہے اور ان کے لیے جلدی نہ کر گویا کہ وہ جس دن عذاب دیکھیں گے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے (تو انہیں ایسا معلوم ہو گا) کہ ایک دن میں سے ایک گھڑی بھر رہے تھے آپ کا کام پہنچا دینا تھا سو کیا نافرمان لوگوں کے سوا اور کوئی ہلاک ہوگا

So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?

Fasbir kamaa sabara ulul 'azmi minar Rusuli wa laa tasta'jil lahum; ka annahum Yawma yarawna maa yoo'adoona lam yalbasooo illaa saa'atam min nahaar; balaagh; fahal yuhlaku illal qawmul faasiqoon
